If the terminal is powered on but shows Network Disconnected or appears Offline in DealerWorks, relaunching DealerPOS forces the terminal to re-establish its connection without a full hardware reboot.
Screen black or completely frozen?
If the terminal screen is unresponsive to touch, use the Terminal Screen is Black, Frozen, or Not Responding article instead. The steps below are for terminals with a working screen that are offline.
Before you begin
The terminal is powered on and the screen responds to touch.
Confirm you are working on the correct physical terminal — match the name shown in DealerWorks to the sticker on the device.
- 1
Press the circle (Home) button at the bottom of the screen to minimize DealerPOS.
- 2
Swipe the DealerPOS app off the recent apps list to fully close it.
- 3
Tap the DealerPOS icon on the home screen to open a fresh session.
- 4
Return to DealerWorks in your browser and refresh the page.
- 5
If the terminal still shows Offline after refreshing, log out and log back in to DealerWorks to reset your browser session.
What you'll see
The Offline or Network Disconnected status clears and the terminal shows Online in DealerWorks after refreshing your browser.
Relaunching DealerPOS can also apply pending app updates that may have been blocking the connection. This does not affect any transaction data or reporting.
If it's still not connecting
Confirm the terminal is on the dealership's designated secure Wi-Fi network — not a guest network or personal hotspot.
Need more help?
Contact DealerWorks Support with the terminal name, the on-screen status, and the Wi-Fi network name (SSID).
