Used to record a payment made by personal or business check. The payment is logged in DealerWorks for reporting — no electronic processing occurs.
Step 1 — Start a Transaction
Before selecting a payment method, you must open the repair order in DealerWorks. The steps differ depending on whether your dealership is integrated with a DMS. Follow the guide that applies to your setup, then return here to process the payment.
Integrated with DMS
Repair orders sync automatically from your DMS
Search for the repair order, confirm the balance, then click Payment →
Without DMS Integration
Enter customer details and the amount manually
Select department, fill in the form, then click Receive Payment →
Step 2 — Record Check Payment
Once the payment window is open, select the Check tab and follow the steps below.
- 1In the payment window, select the Check tab to open the Check Methods screen.
- 2Select the appropriate check type: Personal Check, Business Check, Cashier's Check, or Insurance Check.
- 3In the reference information field, enter the required details per your dealership's settings. Most dealerships enter the Check Number here for easier tracking.
- 4Verify the details are correct, then click Process to complete the transaction.
