The customer finances their repair through a third-party lender. Once the lender confirms approval and funding, enter the lender's reference number in DealerWorks to record the payment. BNPL must be enabled for your dealership — contact your DealerWorks administrator if this option is not visible.
Step 1 — Start a Transaction
Before selecting a payment method, you must open the repair order in DealerWorks. The steps differ depending on whether your dealership is integrated with a DMS. Follow the guide that applies to your setup, then return here to process the payment.
Integrated with DMS
Repair orders sync automatically from your DMS
Search for the repair order, confirm the balance, then click Payment →
Without DMS Integration
Enter customer details and the amount manually
Select department, fill in the form, then click Receive Payment →
Step 2 — Log the BNPL Payment
Once the payment window is open, select the BNPL tab and follow the steps below. Complete the lender's own approval process before recording the payment in DealerWorks.
- 1In the payment window, click the BNPL tab. If this tab is not visible, BNPL may not be enabled for your dealership — contact your DealerWorks administrator.
- 2Enter the required information in the BNPL Reference Information field per your dealership's requirements. This is typically the lender's confirmation or reference number.
- 3Click Process to finalize and log the Buy Now Pay Later transaction.
Note: DealerWorks records the BNPL transaction once you enter the lender's reference number and click Process. The lender's own approval and funding process must be completed outside of DealerWorks before this step.
