Find your terminal's name

Every terminal has a name. It’s the first thing Support will ask for, and it’s the fastest way to make sure we’re both looking at the same device.

Where to look

1. Look at the top left of the terminal’s screen.
   This is the quickest place, and it works even if the terminal isn’t connected.
2. If the screen is off or unreadable, turn the terminal over and find the serial number under the barcode on the back.
3. Give Support the serial number if you can’t see the name.
   The name ends in the last four or last six digits of the serial, depending on how your dealership set its terminals up.

What a terminal name looks like

The department, an underscore, then the digits — for example service_123456.

A replacement terminal does not keep the old one’s name. It gets a new one from its own serial number.
