Start a payment on an order

Modified on Sat, Sep 12 at 3:30 PM

Every payment starts the same way — find the order, open the payment window, then choose how the customer is paying.

If your orders come from your DMS

  1. In the left menu, open General and click Process Transactions.
  2. Click the tab for your department.
You will only see the departments your dealership runs, and orders for one department will not appear under another.
  3. Find the order in the list, or type the invoice or RO number into Search Invoice ID.
Searching pulls a fresh copy from your DMS, so it is worth doing if an amount looks out of date.
  4. Check the customer name and the balance.
  5. Click the blue Payment button on that row.

If the amount has changed since the order was written, you get a note telling you what it went from and to before you carry on.

If you enter orders yourself

  1. Open General → Process Transactions and click your department tab.
  2. Fill in the customer details, the order number and the amount.
  3. Click Receive Payment.

Then choose how they are paying

The payment window opens with a row of tabs across the top — terminal, keyed entry, cash, check and the rest. Which ones you see depends on what your dealership has turned on for your department.
