Save a card to a customer's wallet

Modified on Sat, Sep 12 at 1:32 PM

A saved card can be used again without the customer reading it out every time. There are three ways to get one on file.

While you are keying a payment in

On the Keyed Entry tab, tick Store card in wallet before you process. The card is saved to that customer as the payment goes through.

This needs the keyed entry permission, the same as taking a keyed payment at all — see Take a keyed card payment.

From the customer’s record

  1. Open the customer in CustomerHub and go to the Wallet tab.
  2. Click Add Card, at the top right of the wallet.
  3. Choose Add Card or ACH.
Add Card takes the card number, expiry, security code and postal code. ACH takes their bank details instead.
  4. Click Add Card.

Let the customer add it themselves

In the same window, choose Send Link. The customer gets a link and enters their own card details, so nobody at the dealership handles the number.

The easiest option when the customer is not standing in front of you.

A saved card is only usable on their repair orders if their profile is linked to your DMS. If it is not, the card sits on the profile and cannot be used — see the article below on linking them.

Removing one

Each card on the Wallet tab has a bin icon in the corner. Deleting it removes the card from that customer’s profile.
