Warranty on a repair order: there's no Repair Order Warranty tab

Modified on Fri, Oct 9 at 3:26 PM

Some stores don’t have a Repair Order Warranty tab at all, so there is no separate warranty amount to find. It makes no difference whether the paperwork says manufacturer warranty, service contract or extended warranty — DealerWorks sees one customer-pay balance, and you split the repair order in one transaction instead.

Take it as a split payment

  1. On the Service tab, find the invoice in the table: type its number in the box under Invoice ID, then click Payment.
  2. Click Split Transaction. If you’re asked for a reason, choose Service contract.
  3. Enter the customer’s portion, click Confirm, and take their payment as usual.
  4. Take the remaining balance as the service contract portion.
  5. On the confirmation screen, switch on Bypass Additional Amount. If you aren’t a manager, a manager enters their PIN.

If you don’t see Split Transaction or Bypass Additional Amount, that’s a permission. See Split a payment across two methods and I can’t see the Bypass Additional Amount toggle.
