Login, Lockout, and Password Reset
This article covers how DealerWorks login works, what to do if you forget your password or get locked out, and how administrators can unlock accounts.
Two Different Logins: Web Password vs. Station PIN
DealerWorks has two separate ways to log in, and they serve different purposes:
| Login Type | What It's For | How to Reset |
|---|---|---|
| Web Password | Logging into DealerWorks from a browser (email + password) | Use Forgot Password on the login screen, or ask your administrator to unlock your account |
| Station PIN | Unlocking the cashier station screen after it auto-locks | See the Screen Lock and Station PIN article |
Note: Your web password and your station PIN are separate. Resetting one does not affect the other.
Forgot Your Password?
You can reset your own password from the DealerWorks login screen:
- 1 On the DealerWorks login screen. (Dealerworks.io) Enter the email address associated with your DealerWorks account. Confirm and continue to next page.
- 2 Click the Forgot Password link below the sign-in button.
- 3 Check your inbox for a password reset email and follow the link to create a new password.
Don't see the email? Check your spam or junk folder. The reset email comes from a DealerWorks no-reply address. If it still doesn't arrive after a few minutes, ask your administrator to unlock your account instead.
Locked Out of Your Account?
After several failed login attempts, DealerWorks will lock your account to protect it. When this happens, you will not be able to log in even with the correct password.
A DealerWorks administrator at your dealership can unlock your account:
- 1 Go to Administrative → User Management.
- 2 Find the locked user in the list. Locked accounts are indicated in the user list.
- 3 Click the three-dot menu (⋮) next to the user's name and select the option to unlock the account.
- 4 Once unlocked, the user can attempt to log in again or use Forgot Password to set a new password.
Administrator access required: Only users with administrative permissions can unlock accounts in User Management. If your dealership has no active administrator, contact DealerWorks support for assistance.
New User Never Received Their Login?
When a new user is added in DealerWorks, they receive a welcome email with a link to set up their password. If they didn't receive it:
- Ask them to check their spam or junk folder.
- Confirm the email address entered when creating the account was correct.
- The administrator can trigger a new invite or have the user use the Forgot Password link once the account exists.
