Record a payment for someone else

Modified on Fri, Sep 11 at 5:32 PM

If you are taking a payment on behalf of an advisor or salesperson, you can record it in their name rather than yours.

How to do it

  1. Open the payment window and choose how the customer is paying.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and find Select Sales Person.
It is there for every payment type — terminal, keyed entry, ACH and payment requests alike.
  3. Pick the name from the list.
  4. Take the payment as normal.

What it changes

The payment is recorded against whoever you pick, not against you. That is what keeps their cashier report right.

Leave it alone and the payment is credited to you, as the person running it.

Choose carefully. Who a payment is credited to cannot be changed afterwards — editing a transaction later does not move it to someone else.
